Our Actions
To meet our HSE commitments, we will:
- Set targets, develop, implement and maintain management standards and systems.
- Regularly monitor, review and report on our performance and where required implement strategies which support continued improvement in our HSE performance.
- Engage our key stakeholders to build relationships based on honesty, openness and mutual trust and share responsibility for our HSE policy; and
- Identify, assess and control hazards and risks.
Mastermyne believes that we are all responsible for our health, safety and environmental performance and through a positive HSE culture we can achieve our commitments and actions and meet our aim of Zero Harm.
It is a requirement that all employees, contractors and visitors comply with the requirements of this policy and our HSE management standards at all times.

Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation
Mastermyne Pty Ltd is totally committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all employees. Notwithstanding this commitment to safety, in the case of an accident or illness, Mastermyne have in place a structured program for worker rehabilitation designed to return the employee to normal duties as soon as practicable.
Rehabilitation is an integral part of the healing process and with this in mind, Mastermyne will commit to developing a program of rehabilitation specifically designed for that individual worker. Participation in any rehabilitation program will not prejudice a workers rights in any way under the Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003.
Success of the program is dependent on active participation, trust and open communication between all parties. Consultation between the individual, medical specialist and management personnel is critical in the design of a program of alternate duties, which take into consideration the workers capacity to function safely and effectively in the workplace.
The duties selected for the program firstly need to be productive to encourage a sense of achievement for the worker, and monitored to remain suitable to any changes in both written and verbal forms of communicating such information.
Evaluation of the rehabilitation program at periods determined by management and the medical personnel involved will determine whether a successful outcome has been achieved or further strategies assessed to determine the next course of action.

Company Objectives:
- To make every effort to minimise work related injuries and illnesses by providing a safe workplace and encouraging employees to immediately report any hazards observed.
- To ensure that rehabilitation follows a work related injury or illness, an on-site Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator will be appointed to monitor and coordinate the return to work plan and to assist where ever possible in the return to work, be it:
- Same job with same duties;
- Same job with modified duties; or
- An alternative position. - To initiate the rehabilitation process as quickly as possible after a work related injury or illness while ensuring that participation in the program will not disadvantage the affected employee.
- To encourage all employees to support the affected employee and their return to work program.
- To advise all employees of this policy, the existence of alternative duties at all Company locations and the individual responsibility to participate in a rehabilitation and return to work program if the need arises.
Confidentially of any medical information is to be strictly observed and this applies to both written and verbal forms of communicating such information.

Community Policy
SUPPORTING THE SUSTAINABILITY OF OUR COMMUNITIES
Mastermyne believes that the sustainability of its activities is closely linked to the sustainability of the communities in which we operate.

Anti Discrimination / Sexual Harassment
Mastermyne Directors and management all bestow credence to the importance of providing a proactive and harmonious workplace that recognises and encourages full utilisation of employee’s skills.
To this effect, all Mastermyne employees are treated on their merits, without regard to race, age, sex, marital status or any other factor not applicable to the position. Employees are valued according to how well they perform their duties, their ability and their enthusiasm in maintaining expected standards of service.
The Company believes that all employees should be able to work in an environment free of discrimination and sexual harassment. We consider discrimination and sexual harassment to be an unacceptable form of behaviour which will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
TO ACHIEVE THIS:
- Mastermyne will ensure that all managers and supervisors are aware of their responsibilities and accountabilities by ensuring that all employees are treated equitably and are not subject to discrimination or sexual harassment.
- Any reports of discrimination or sexual harassment will be treated seriously and investigated promptly, confidentially and impartially.
- Disciplinary action will be taken against anyone who discriminates against, or sexually harasses a co-worker. Discipline may involve a warning, transfer, counselling, demotion or dismissal depending on the circumstances.
