Occupational Health & Safety
Mastermyne is committed to the principle that all workplace injuries and illnesses can be prevented. Safety management is a key component in Mastermyne's approach to all phases of a project from inception to operation and completion.
Since its inception in 1996 Mastermyne has invested significant resources and capital into developing and improving scalable safety, planning and reporting systems capable of managing a large scale workforce over multiple sites. To achieve safety objectives, Mastermyne use a safety management system aligned to the Occupational Health & Safety standard AS4801 and complementary to Mastermyne’s industry leading training program. The Company also develop safety management plans specific to each site and map against client, legislative and Company requirements. Safety management within Mastermyne is underpinned by a dual track approach incorporating compliance and behavioural management.
Safety Systems
Mastermyne recognises that the coal mining industry, particularly in underground mining operations can be a hazardous work environment. Maintaining the safety of its staff within this environment is an essential part of Mastermyne’s positive working culture and integral to its ongoing success.
To effectively manage and monitor the safety and training of its staff, Mastermyne uses safety software INX (Incontrol and Intuition). A web enabled database whereby head office and on site management can access real time data which is used in the prevention and management of injuries as well as a document management system, audit tool and employee training and records data base. This allows Mastermyne to proactively and accurately manage staff skill levels, monitor ongoing training and compliance, monitor safety trandes, track incident occurrence and resolution and provide clients with regular feedback.
