Project Description: Located 38 km south of Mackay, Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal (DBCT) exports thermal and metallurgical coal from Central Queensland’s Bowen Basin mines to ports around the world. The terminal operates around the clock and has a name plate capacity of 85 Mtpa.

Mastertec has a long term maintenance contract for access solution services at DBCT. We design, erect and dismantle complex access solutions to provide access to all aspects of this operational coal export terminal. This includes‐

  • Designing safe and customised access solutions
  • Working at heights
  • Working over water
  • Working around operating plant and equipment
  • Erecting and dismantling scaffold structures.
  • Documented Inspections of all plant and equipment
  • Blast and paint over water
  • Work carried out within a UNESCO World Heritage listed environment

Mastertec undertake the following activities for each scaffolding package of works:

  • Identify Hazards and risks associated with the tasks
  • Implement and monitor controls to manage the risks
  • Quality assurance controlled through ITP’s and hold points
  • Schedule works to complete tasks on time
  • Schedule works to optimize production
  • Schedule works to minimize delays
  • Monitor and review quality of all plant and equipment
  • Document and record all inspections
  • Daily scaffold inspections conducted prior to access
  • Monitor weather and tides to access inspection requirements for all scaffolding built in a marine zone.
  • Comply with Site Environmental requirements as per EPA requirements for work within the UNESCO World Heritage listed, Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.
