Project Description: Wambo Coal Mine operation is situated approximately 15 kilometres west of Singleton, New South Wales.

The South Bates Underground Extension Project is an area adjacent to the existing LW11 workings of the South Bates Whybrow Seam. Mastermyne were engaged to develop:

  • a 3 heading entry and new Portal
  • a 3 heading section of Main Headings (2.6 linear km)
  • 9 x 250m wide Longwall block, ranging from 2.0 to 1.5 km in length
  • All services extended from the current South Bates Whybrow Seam area
  • Coal conveyance extension
